CMO2GO: Solving Your Marketing Puzzles While You Focus On Your Own
At CMO2Go, we love putting all your marketing components together into an effective strategy. We’re here to solve your marketing puzzles so your attorneys can focus on their clients.
CMO2Go was founded on the belief that law firms of all sizes can benefit from working with a senior–level marketing executive who understands legal marketing and can bring in an expert team and resources that are ready to go when you need them – without the risk and expense of hiring full-time staff.
Our founder and chief CMO, Erika Steinberg, has been in every marketing position from assistant to head of the department. She’s built and rebuilt marketing departments, created and directed multi-level teams and successfully managed many projects on-time and on-budget.
And she keeps it fun every step of the way.

Erika Steinberg: Your Execution Guru
(With A Side Of Cookies)
Once upon a time, Erika gifted her Sidley colleagues pint glasses that read “The glass is always full.”
Erika’s clients call her their execution guru. She’s known for her optimism and sense of humor, but also for being unfailingly reliable in a world filled with unreturned calls and emails. Among her kids and their friends, she’s known for her very specific laugh and amazingly delicious cookies. You get all of those things when you work with her.
Erika earned her BA in History from The George Washington University and then realized she couldn’t do much with a history degree – so she went back to GW at night and got her MBA. After years as a city dweller in D.C. and NYC, she now lives along the winding roads of Westchester County, NY with her family and their pandemic parakeet.

When I’m not talking about law firm marketing (and I do talk about it with anyone who’s interested), I love to get lost in a good book (bonus points if you know Thursday Next), come up with a new cookie recipe or exercise to work off the cookies.
And yes, they’re worth the calories.

Tracy
Tracy is a writer whose vast experience has ranged from writing white papers to composing the words on a promotional candy bar wrapper. She has 10+ years as a freelance legal content marketer and deep legal marketing expertise that includes writing marketing collateral for Greenberg Traurig.
That might sound intimidating, but she’s so approachable that one of the attorneys she worked with recently asked her for fashion advice before a client meeting (and actually followed it!).
In her role at CMO2Go, Tracy is the writer to Erika’s editor. She interviews partners, offers story-shaping ideas and ensures that all content is both engaging and ABA compliant. She has worked with many types of firms, from Am Law 100 to a legal tech firm startup focused on amplifying women and people of color. And as a dedicated legal content marketer always up for a challenge, she works outside her comfort zone to get the story right.
A native of Concord, MA and a Tufts graduate with a master’s in journalism from NYU, Tracy currently lives in New Rochelle with her husband and three children, where she enjoys visiting the Hudson Valley’s craft brewing companies, reading memoirs and riding her Peloton.
Cortney
Cortney is our ace legal marketing consultant who steps in when our clients need a skilled pro to keep the marketing machine running. With over 20 years of B2B strategic marketing expertise, she’s worked with almost every type of legal client, including Am Law 100 firms like Jones Day, small to midsize regional firms and legal tech and staffing companies.
Cortney’s specialty at CMO2Go is project management, but she’s also known for her in-depth understanding of SEO, marketability, branding, content planning and creation and client development. A compelling storyteller and resourceful dot connector, she is clear and precise, responsive and able to produce quality results on a tight deadline.
Cortney has an MBA in Management and Marketing and a BA in Communications, and believes strongly in working to advance equity, diversity and inclusion efforts in the workplace. In her spare time, she’s applied her marketing savvy to help women-owned, local businesses amplify their brands and client reach. After two decades of living in New York City, she resides in Connecticut with her family and an array of deer, wild turkeys, red foxes, frogs and chipmunks.
With three decades of experience driving business development and revenue growth in Am Law 50 firms, Elizabeth helps firms drive value through their business development initiatives. Clients appreciate her approach which begins with a focus on their strategic objectives and what they need from their clients to achieve success. She then develops strategies to deliver results.
Elizabeth earned her BS in Psychology and Economics from Fordham University. Her early interest in economic and social injustices led her to roles in communications, advertising and business development. Her passion for the business of law took shape when she joined Jaffe Associates to advise law firms on growth strategies.
A native Washingtonian and long-time New Yorker, Elizabeth now lives in Charlotte, NC with her spouse, David, and their two Siberian husky-mix puppies, Jake and Roxy.
With almost 20 years of experience, including working in-house at three notable Big Law firms, Alejandra Ramirez isn’t afraid to dig deep to find the solutions to your biggest obstacles.
Having led marketing communications teams at law firms with client bases spanning major public and private institutions, her knowledge base spans various sectors, including banking, employment, healthcare, financial services, life sciences, litigation, M&A, private equity, real estate and technology.
By blending vision with pragmatism, Ale ensures that every decision aligns with your business objectives without missing the creative details that make each strategy unique.
In addition to legal marketing, Alejandra is passionate about employer branding and internal communications. An avid traveler, she loves exploring new countries and is known for packing the night before (sometimes the day of) her trips.
Erin
Erin has been in operations for almost 20 years. She is multi-talented, serving as a fractional COO who also comes with a degree in graphic design, and experience as a professional copywriter and copyeditor.
At CMO2Go, Erin organizes the moving parts of the business, cuts out the chaos and keeps things simple, even when they are complex. She focuses on running the business, allowing Erika and the team to work with our clients and grow the business.
Outside of work, Erin is very involved with animals, running a pet-sitting business with her daughter-in-law in Southern Delaware, where she can use her 27 years’ experience with rescue animals and help owners to get them acclimated and help them feel safe again. She loves nature and gardening, and you will usually find her outside whenever possible!
